Fear

Fear

Of the unknown

The untrodden path

The unscaled heights

The unexplored depths.

...

Fear

Of failure

Shame

Depravity

Discomfort.

...

Fear

Of loneliness

Sickness

Disability

Death.

...

Fear

Of people

Natural calamities

Apocalypses

God.

...

Fear

Of being let down

Forgotten

Shortchanged

Taken for granted.

...

Fear

Of the known

The challenges

The obstacles

The constraints.

...

Fear

Of so many things

In life

That dictates

The paths we choose.

...

What if there was

No fear?

...

What would

You do?

Where would

You go?

How would

You live

A fearless

Life?

I do live by fear sometimes, and when it gets too much for me, I meditate and go within myself to say- everything isn't really real. Play the game. After that, it becomes easier to move.

I think fear keeps me stuck. It's hard to imagine life differently. It can be a motivator, too though. Maybe if I imagine life without fear, I'll be closer to living it that way!

Just as awitchtrying said, fear keeps me stuck too. It masks itself in procrastination and so many other feelings. If I had no fear, while keeping wisdom, I think that joy would propel me into action and I could leave the motivating crutch of fear behind. Now that's the way to live. Thanks for the words packed together in your powerful poem.
